Jayena: Río Bacal - Poza del Romance

Walk with Sexisenderistas

Spanish

This is a moderate walk from the Área Recreative El Bacal near Jayena along the Río Bacal to the Poza del Romance. This walk is 8.9km long and takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete. There is a pool which you can jump into.

LONG DESCRIPTION

The walk starts at the Área Recreative El Bacal. The first part is along a track and then we take a left at the fork and make our way towards the barranco. After a while, we pick up a track that takes us to the bottom of the barranco following an acequía. It is necessary to cross the river several times. Eventually we arrive at the Poza del Romance, a rock pool where you can bathe when the weather and the water is warmer. There are a couple of bars in the village of Jayena to have a beer. The  start of the walk is actually a free camping area, there are often groups of scouts camping there.

Calorie Note: The calories info is grouped into 3 figures according to body weight including luggage. This is just a very rough guide. Our figures here are lower than a fitbit. You can see how much 5% beer you will need to drink to replace the calories you have burned.

Note: The GPX time is the time on the GPX file. The GPX might not be accurate if during the walk the walkers went for a meal for example. Naismith is a formula based on distance and elevation.
